Unfortunately this is the last issue of Legend of the Shadow Clan (for now) but it goes out with a bang.  The story about the Himura family discovering and accepting their true selves has been non stop action over all five issues.  The crazy thing is it all takes place within a couple of days!

In this era of “wait for trade” many comics move at a glacial pace.  Thankfully not the Legend of the Shadow Clan.  From meeting the family to immediately throwing them into non stop danger.  There is no filler, no stretching for space, and yet there was still plenty to fill five issues.  Hand to hand, swords and yes even drones.  Every page brings more and more action building upon the relationships with the family.  Character development through action.   Now really, was that so hard?  It damn sure is for other companies.

Best of all is the great finale.  Oh sure it does set up some things for the next volume.  But there is a sense of closure.  If there is never another issue of Legend of the Shadow Clan (a travesty!) it will be alright because the ending is exactly that.  A satisfying ending.  Unlike event book after event book that does nothing but set up the next event.

While movie companies struggle to figure out how to show action that means anything, every one of these creators could become a force in the directors chair.  Its never about the sword, but who is carrying it and why.  The Himura family became action stars over the course of this series and as with any good action story hopefully there is a sequel rapidly coming together.
